Playing with Fire tells the life story of Carlos Almaraz, one of the true greats of American art, a painter and activist who influenced everyone who came after him. The Chicano Art Movement owes a large part of its power to Almaraz and his impressive body of work. (82 minutes)
Please note: Carlos Almaraz’s work is included in the newly opened Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture. Go see his work in person if you get a chance. This film is not rated.
Special thanks to Richard Montoya.
